"Mamma Matilda" is one of our fabulous matrons at Hearts of Hope. Matilda is 40 years old and a mother of 5 children. She is one of our matrons for the boys boarding house. When we opened Hearts of Hope, Matilda approached us asking if she could volunteer because she could see the passion we had for supporting children with disabilties and she wanted to be apart of it. Shortly after, we employed her full time and everyone at Hearts of Hope adores her. She is one of our hardest working staff members who loves and adores all of our children, being a true "Mamma Matilda" to each and every child.
Her job involves washing sheets and making beds, as well as dressing and bathing the children at Hearts of Hope. She also supports the children by feeding them if they are unable to feed themselves.
By sponsoring a matron you will not only help us retain the best possible staff for our students at Hearts of Hope, but also help with the rising running costs that are associated with our truly special children at Hearts of Hope.

Staff sponsorship fees cover:
- Wages
- A travel allowance (to and from school)
- 2 meals a day while teaching at school
- Regular professional development training courses
